Special Library Projects
The Lexinfo Team is available to assist with ad hoc special library projects such as bulk loose-leaf filing, data capturing, bar-coding, labelling of material and cataloguing.
Recent examples of our involvement in such projects include:
City of Cape Town
- Cataloguing and classification for the City’s Information and Knowledge Resource Centre of documents from the Strategic Development Information & GIS, Planning and Building Management, and City Spatial departments
National Library of Cape Town
- Capturing of details of 4000 newspaper clippings in MS-Excel database
- Participation in “RetroCat” project funded by the Carnegie Foundation, in which 100 000 catalogue cards have been captured in MARC-readable format to facilitate worldwide access to the National Library’s collection
