Please note the update to this week’s edition to incorporate the new Draft Disaster Management Regulations (RGN1941 GG 46127 p3 29Mar2022) aimed at lifting South Africa’s national state of disaster. Comments are invited by 1 April 2022. Updates to the COVID-19 Regulatory Update are highlighted in yellow.
This week's highlights include:
Amendments to the COVID-19 / CORONAVIRUS regulations to relax the restrictions relating to gatherings; the attendance of funerals and cremations; the mandatory protocols when in a public place relating to the wearing of masks, number of persons inside premises, queuing of persons inside and outside premises; and the partial re-opening of borders.
Comments on the draft regulations issued by the Department of Health for comment.
News on corruption related issues; the abandoned, unfinished or underused Covid-19 ICU hospitals; the expiry of vaccines; and the procurement of vaccinations.
