Draft Regulations on Community Service by Candidate and Practising Legal Practitioners

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development published an invitation for comments on the proposed amendment to the Regulations under section 109(1)(bA) of the Legal Practice Act 28 of 2014 (RGN 1183 GG 42002 dated 29 October 2018).

The proposals include the insertion of the following sections:

• 4A Rendering of community service by candidate legal practitioners

• 4B Rendering of community service by practising legal practitioners

Comments are due before 20 June 2022.
