New Minimum Wages w.e.f. 1 March 2026

On 3 February 2026, the Minister of Employment and Labour, published the new national minimum wages in terms of the National Minimum Wage Act 9 of 2018 under RGN7083 in Government Gazette No. 54075. The gazette notice can be viewed here.

Effective 1 March 2026, the revised minimum wage rates will be:

• R30.23 per hour – including farm workers and domestic workers.

• R16.62 per hour – applicable to workers employed on the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).
